Expectations of Anthropology Students

Students who graduate with an MA in Anthropology from the University of Wyoming will:

  • be able to explain the contents of the "four fields" of Anthropology and their interrelationship in written and oral formats.

  • have experience conducting original research.

  • develop skills which foster professionalism as related to their chosen fields.

Students who graduate with a PhD in Anthropology from the University of Wyoming will:

  • have professional and specialized training so that they can move into careers in academic or non-academic tracks.

  • have a dissertation research experience that results in professional publication(s), thereby contributing to the expansion of knowledge.

  • have practical experience that will promote their movement into professional careers in a reasonable amount of time.

Travel Funding Requests

Students are welcome to submit requests for funding support when traveling to meetings and conferences.  Cost-sharing is a requirement, so please be prepared to gather funding from multiple sources; your advisor, department, college and Academic Affairs may contribute to your fundraising efforts.
