Although ARCC is a multi-disciplinary collaborative department within the Office of Research and Economic Development it is currently structured into two teams which provide specific services with clear, defined roles and responsibilities. These teams are the HPC & Systems Team and the User Services Team, with both teams reporting to the ARCC director.
Liudmila Sergeevna Mainzer is the director of ARCC.
Mike Killean is the deputy director of ARCC Cyberinfrastructure.
The HPC & Systems Team is responsible for all HPC Infrastructure (Cluster, storage, and extraneous systems) services that include:
- Design and deploy new systems & services
- Systems administration
- Systems performance evaluation
- Research/evaluate new technologies
- Ongoing system maintenance.
They are also responsible for software management, development and installation across the ARCC systems including parallel programming best practices, and all research software in use by the research community.
Current members of the HPC & Systems Team are:
The User Services Team's primary role and responsibilities are aimed at leading support efforts to ensure a better experience for ARCC users and research groups. This includes:
- Training and Consultation
- Documentation
- Website & Wiki administration
- Community outreach
- Data management.
They are also responsible for providing assistance with research project management and workflow design.
