I was raised in a small beach town in Southern California. I left California in 1987 and have lived and worked through out the West. I earned a BFA from University of Colorado in 1990 and went on to earn my MFA in 1994 from the University of Montana.

I am currently living, working and teaching at the University of Wyoming as an Academic Professional. Recurring themes in my work come from extensive highway travel.  Traveling allows me access into compelling landscapes, stories, and cultures. These things feed the work I do in the studio.
