The Pat Guthrie Teaching Gallery Exhibition presents artwork selected by faculty members from a wide range of departments for specific courses being taught during the current semester at the University of Wyoming. The artwork is selected to support the content and learning outcomes of the individual courses. The artwork is available to students throughout the semester for use during the museum’s public hours.

The exhibition space is divided into four sections, each of which engages themes, issues or content areas that support a specific course or set of courses. Faculty may schedule class visits to the gallery, arrange meetings with museum education and curatorial staff, and encourage students to engage with the artwork independently outside of class time. The Pat Guthrie Teaching Gallery exhibitions support core learning outcomes and may form the basis of writing and research assignments, oral presentations, and group projects.

The Pat Guthrie Teaching Gallery is designed to meet the needs of the academic community but it is also open to the public. It provides a glimpse into the broad range of courses offered across campus and a window into the many ways the Art Museum supports UW’s academic mission. Student projects and public presentations also create the possibility of dialogue among faculty, students and members of the community.

  • Funded in part by the Pat Guthrie Special Exhibitions Teaching Gallery Endowment
