The Art Museum welcomes gifts of art to expand and advance its collections. In order to maintain the high standard of the collections, every potential donation must be reviewed by the Art Museum’s collections advisory committee. As much as we would love to accept all donations, not all gifts fit within our scope and mission and the Art Museum and the University of Wyoming have the right to refuse gifts or bequests. If a work of art is not approved, we may be able to work with you to find alternative museums/institutions for your generosity.
If you are contemplating a gift of art, please submit the following information by email to curator of collections, Nicole Crawford at ncrawfor@uwyo.edu. Since we are unable to accept or hold any artwork prior to collections advisory committee approval, please do not drop off or send any original artwork. Instead, submit an image of the object and a close-up image of any signatures.
Please include the following in your email:
Potential donor name
Contact information
Object Information:
Artist
Title
Medium, size & date
Appraised value
Provenance (history of the painting)
