University of Wyoming Calendar for Oct. 19-25

Tuesday, Oct. 16-Saturday, Oct. 20, 7:30 p.m. -- The UW Associated Students of the Performing Arts and the Department of Theatre and Dance present “FUR,” a surreal fairytale about beauty, identity and desire, Fine Arts Center studio theatre. Tickets cost $5 for students and $10 for others, and will be sold at the door.

Friday, Oct. 19, 8:45 a.m. -- Cathy Small leads a discussion titled “Thinking Beyond the Classroom: Students and Residence Halls, Dining, and Co-Curricular Activities” at Pathways for Learning, a learning assessment forum, Rendezvous Room, Washakie Center. Free.

Friday, Oct. 19, 10 a.m. -- Erika Prager presents “CLA, NSSE, and ‘Parsing’ Studies: What Can They Tell Us&?rdquo; at Pathways for Learning, a learning assessment forum, Wyoming Union Family Room. Free.

Saturday, Oct. 20, 7:30 p.m. -- UW College of Education and the West Laramie Business Association presents the John Cowan Band with special guest Jalan Crossland, UW College of Education auditorium. Tickets cost $20.

Sunday, Oct. 21, 7:30 p.m. -- UW Cultural Programs presents violinist Stefan Jackiw, UW Fine Arts Center concert hall. Tickets cost $14 for students and senior citizens, and $17 for others.

Wednesday, Oct. 24, 7:30 p.m. -- Teton Gravity Research presents, “Lost and Found,” a movie about the 2007 ski season as seen through the eyes of world-class skiers and snowboarders, Arts and Sciences auditorium. Free.

Thursday, Oct. 25, 6 p.m. -- Thursday Night Garden Party presents singer/songwriter Scott Von, Wyoming Unions Gardens. Free.

Thursday, Oct. 25, 7:30 p.m. -- The Department of Music presents the UW Wind Ensemble, UW Fine Arts Center concert hall. Free.
