John A. Catterall -- 1992 Outstanding Alumnus
Bachelor of Art - 1966 - Art
A fifth-generation Wyomingite, born in Sheridan, Catterall is a pre-eminent painter, printmaker and educator. He received his MFA from Washington State in 1968. His career as a teacher and visiting artist covers a quarter century, benefitting students at Montana State, New Mexico State, Clarke College in Iowa, the University of South Florida, and the University of Florida in Gainsville, where he is currently professor and chair of the Art Department.
Caterall has established MFA programs at Montana State and New Mexico State. He has also been instrumental in establishing and encouraging art programs for communities in several states. His works have been featured in exhibitions world-wide.
