Robert "Sam" Allen* -- 1995 Outstanding Alumnus
Bachelor of Arts - 1942 - Math/Economics
Community was at the heart of R. S. "Sam" Allen's life. His love and dedication for his family, city and state were illustrated through commitments to each. Throughout his career as a banker in Cody, Wyoming, he actively supported numerous service organizations and served on the Cody Medical Foundation board.
His career began with completion of a B.A. in Math/Economics from the University of Wyoming in 1942, and service in the Army until 1944. For two years, Allen worked for banks in Cheyenne and Kansas City before becoming a cashier at the Shoshone National Bank in Wyoming.
Allen served in various positions until 1958 when he became president of that bank. During his years in Cody, he served in leadership positions with banking organizations and was active in his church, the Cody Stampede, the Lions Club and the Masonic Temple. R. S. Allen passed away in 1994.
