Introduction
The Information Technology (IT) department at the University of Wyoming (UW) provides a utility to allow faculty, staff, and students of the university to chat online with an IT support specialist during IT Help Desk business hours. This document gives instruction on how to install the application and connect to an IT support specialist.
Procedure
Note: This application only works on a Windows PC running Internet Explorer 6 and above and Firefox 2 and above. Some of the steps are slightly different for Internet Explorer and Firefox and are noted as such in this document.
- Go to http://support.uwyo.edu and agree to the terms.
- Click the link labeled Click HERE to Join Queue under the Chat_With_A_UW_IT_Representative queue.

- In the window that appears (you may have to disable your pop-up blocker), fill out every field in the form including your uwyo.edu email address and click CONTINUE.

Note: Steps 4, 5, and 6 are different for Internet Explorer and Firefox. Pay attention to which version of the instructions you are looking at.
Internet Explorer-Specific Instructions
- Your computer will attempt to download a file, but Internet Explorer may block the download.

If the file is blocked, click the yellow bar at the top of the window and select Download File… from the menu.

- Click Run on the File Download –Security Warning dialog box.

- Click Run on the Internet Explorer – Security Warning dialog box.

Firefox-Specific Instructions
- Your computer will attempt to download a file.

Click Save File on the Opening Collaboration_Client.exe dialog box and the file will be saved to your computer.

- Run the file Collaboration_Client.exe to install the application.
Internet Explorer and Firefox
- Once the application is installed, it attempts to contact an IT support representative.

Note: Allow time for an IT representative to respond. You may click the link under “If you would prefer not to wait please click here to send an E-mail” and fill out the form to send an email to the UW IT Help Desk.

- Once a connection is established, a UW IT representative will attempt to assist you.
