Install PASW Statistics (also known as SPSS 17) from the UW Network
NOTE: Functional knowledge and use of this application is the responsibility of the user. Uninstall any existing SPSS versions before proceeding. Approximately 1 GB of space is needed after patching.
Introduction
Information Technology provides the statistical packages SAS and PASW/SPSS free of charge to University of Wyoming departments when they are installed and run from the UW network. If you need access to SAS or PASW/SPSS for work purposes, contact your IT user consultant to request access to the network locations for these applications. The computer must remain connected to the network for the software to run properly. If the computer will be removed from the network, a local installation of the software is required. Contact the Client Support Services Front Desk at 766-3686 for information on checking out the software for a local installation.
Departments: To run PASW/SPSS from the network, you must ask for each username to be added to the PASW/SPSS share, even if someone else installed the software on the computer you are using.
