Configure an iOS (iPhone or iPad) Device to Work with UW’s Office 365 Email System

NOTE: these instructions are only for users on the Office 365 email system. Users still on the local Exchange system should see How to Connect to Your UW Email Account with an iPhone or iPod Touch.

Introduction

This guide was made using an iPhone on iOS 6. The screenshots will look slightly different for iPad/iPhone users with earlier versions of iOS.

Procedures

  1. If this is the first email account you are setting up, tap Mail. Otherwise, tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, and Calendars.

  2. Tap Add Account…

  3. Tap Microsoft Exchange as the account type.

  4. When asked for more information, you will need to enter your UW email and password. The Description can be one of your choosing. Tap Next. Your mail program will try to find the settings it needs to set up your account.

  5. The Option Page will inform you it has successfully connected. Tap Save in order save the account information.

  6. If you encounter any difficulties with this process, you can check the setup information for the account and verify it has the correct information.

    Email: username@uwyo.edu
    Server: outlook.office365.com
    Domain: uwyo
    Username: username@uwyo.edu
    Password: Uwyo account password
    Use SSL: On
