Use Your Two-Factor Authentication Account

Procedure

  1. Request two-factor authentication by filling out the Two-Factor Authentication Request form (https://www.uwyo.edu/itsecure/dual/). You will receive email notification when your account is ready.
     
  2. Once your account is created, go to: https://wyosecure.uwyo.edu/2f.
     
  3. Log into the Instant Virtual Extranet with your UWYO username and password and click Sign In.

  4. Once logged into the Instant Virtual Extranet you will need to enter your phone information under Add Phone. Choose your Country, and enter your phone number and phone type.

  5. Click the Call Me or Text Me button to get your verification code. Once you have the code, enter the information in the Verification Code box and click Verify. Once verified you can click Continue.

  6. The next screen gives you instructions for installing Duo Mobile. If you have an iPhone, Android, Palm, Blackberry, Symbian, J2ME, Windows Phone 7, or Windows Mobile phone, you should install Duo Mobile, which can generate the passcodes you need to login. Click the Text me the installation link button.

  7. You will receive a text on your phone that says, "Welcome to Duo! To install the Duo Mobile app, click this link." Click the link to install the App on your device. Once the App is installed on your device, click on Continue.

  8. The next screen activates the Duo Mobile Application. Click on Text me the activation link.

  9. You will receive an Activation text on your device that says, "To activate the Duo Mobile App click this link." Click the link on your device to activate. You should receive an activation successful message on your device and the option to click Continue. Click Continue on your device and the click Generate Passcode.
    Your device will return a 6 digit passcode to enter into the Activate Duo Mobile screen under verify activation. Then click Verify.

  10. Once verified, click on Continue to login.

    You should see a screen that says, "Enrollment successful!" This is the Duo login prompt that you’ll normally see when logging in.

    You can choose Duo Push, Phone Call or Passcode for authentication. If you are using a smartphone, we recommend using the Duo Push option as it will be the easiest for you. If you are not using a smartphone and would like to discuss other options, please contact the IT Help Desk at 766-4357.

  11. If you just click Log in, you will see a Pushed a login request to your phone... screen.

  12. Once you accept the login from your device, the screen will return to the WyoSecure homepage and you are ready to connect to your service.
