Resolve Browser Errors when Using ArcGIS

Introduction

ESRI ArcGIS geographic information software is available to UW departments and employees. See the UW Department-Provided Applications section on the UW Software website for details. ArcGIS requires adding file://windows.uwyo.edu to the trusted sites list in Internet Explorer to enable full scripting capability.

Procedure

1. Open Internet Explorer (IE) and go to Tools, Internet Options.

2. Click on the Security tab and then highlight Trusted sites icon. Click on the Sites button.

3. Enter file://windows.uwyo.edu into the Add this website to the zone text box.  Be sure the Require server… checkbox is unchecked. Click the Add button.

4. Close the Internet Options window and close IE.

This should resolve scripting errors in ArcGIS.
