Collegiate Learning Assessment|Assessment of Student Learning

Collegiate Learning Assessment (CLA)

The University of Wyoming participated in a four-year longitudinal study sponsored by the Lumina Foundation and the Council for Aid to Education using the Collegiate Learning Assessment (CLA) to assess student learning from 2005 to 2009. In 2005-06, UW recruited 276 freshmen to participate. This group of students was followed for a four-year period.

The University of Wyoming currently conducts a cross-sectional study of its students using the CLA once every three years. In these cross-sectional studies, 100 freshmen and 100 seniors are asked to take the CLA . UW conducted its first cross-sectional study during the 2011-2012 academic year and is now conducting the CLA in 2014-2015. The 2014-2015 results will be available in fall 2015.
