The University of Wyoming has participated in the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) since 2000. UW has conducted the NSSE in 2000, 2001, 2005, 2007, and 2009. We also conducted the accompanying Faculty Survey of Student Engagement (FSSE) in 2005 and 2009. The next NSSE and FSSE administrations will be spring 2012.

UW is committed to ongoing assessment of student learning processes and the NSSE administration is a key component of our institutional level efforts. In being more transparent about our results, we are pleased to have joined USA Today's project to publicize NSSE benchmark results for post-secondary institutions nationwide. USA Today provided some background on the five NSSE benchmarks for its readers on their website. In addition, UW would like to take this opportunity to describe more fully our NSSE results and provide further information for parents and students regarding key programs related to these indicators.
