Advisor:

Dr. Xiaohong Liu

Research Topic:

My thesis topic addresses the implementation of absorbing organic carbon (also known as brown carbon) in the Community Earth System Model. The purpose of this implementation is to drive the model closer to observations. In addition to quantifying the radiative effects of brown carbon in an Earth System Model, this study strives to improve aerosol optical representation in biomass burning regions by looking at how changes in other aerosol properties affect model agreement with observations.
