Online using WebWork and are open book and open notes, but you should prepare a one page of notes. This page should not have the answers to the homework problems but rather helpful general-purpose formulas. No help from anybody is allowed on the quizzes.

Classwork:

We will use CPS in class. It is a student response system. There is a file with instructions.

Exams:

There will only be a final exam. Again it is open book and open notes, and the one page notes that you prepared for the quizzes. The final exam will be comprehensive, but will not be a common final with the other sections.  Calculators can be used during the exam and quizzes. No help from anybody is allowed.

I will give more information about the homework, quizzes and exam in class.

With Mathematics, as with other disciplines, it is very important that you do not fall behind. You should review each section as it is completed in class. Doing problems is very useful. If you don’t get it right the first time, keep trying. Practice makes perfect.

If you have a physical, learning, or psychological disability and require accommodations, please let me know as soon as possible.  You will need to register with, and provide documentation of your disability to, University Disability Support Services (UDSS) in SEO, room 330 Knight Hall, 766-6189, TTY: 766-3073.

Important note: You must earn a grade of C or better to enroll in Math1050, Mat2350, Math1405 or Math2200. Should you withdraw from Math1400 (or receive an F) and you enrolled based on a placement score, you will need a valid placement score or appropriate ACT score to re-enroll in M1400 (Department policy states that placement scores expire after one year).

Read carefully the Student’s Guide to Webwork.
