The Science Posse is a group of UW graduate students who posses a passion and expertise in varying topics relating to science. These topics include chemistry, physics, engineering and ecology, depending on the graduate students involved and their areas of research. Science Posse travels throughout Wyoming to help teachers implement science-based lessons and experiments in the classroom, and host workshops for visiting classes to campus. Science Posse works with middle school and high school classes.
More information about the Science Posse can be found here.
Both the Science Posse and the Biodiversity Institute carry an expertise in science (Science Posse currently focusing on physical sciences, Biodiversity Institute focusing on life sciences), and have goals of connecting classes with hands-on science experiences. By combining the talents and resources of the two, your class can focus on nearly any science topic and employ a suite of equipment options and facilities.
If your class is visiting campus, the Science Posse and Biodiversity Institute can put together a great day-long workshop on the topic of your choosing; or we can help you find a topic!
If your class cannot come to campus, the Science Posse and Biodiversity Institute may be able to come to you. Visit the Science Posse's website to complete the request form.
Contact the Biodiversity Institute at 307-766-6240 or biodiversity@uwyo.edu to discuss with Dorothy Tuthill, Associate Director, what your class can do this school year!
