Berry Biodiversity Conservation Center Tours:

The Biodiversity Institute welcomes any groups or individuals to explore the Berry Biodiversity Conservation Center.  Below are four tour options.  Contact the Biodiversity Institute's Associate Director Dorothy Tuthill for more information and to schedule your tour.

BC stairwell1.  Professionally guided tours of the Berry Center. Tours feature biodiversity science and/or green building features, depending on time and interest. Time: 30-60 minutes.

2.  Self-guided biodiversity tours. Take 20-30 minutes to walk around the Berry Center-you'll see biodiversity displays and photo exhibits, and be able to look into laboratories at biologists at work. Informative posters at the windows will help explain the science going on behind the glass. Take along a BC brochure for more information.

3.  Self-guided green building tours. The Berry Center is a great place to observe a sustainable building at work. Learn about how complex technology and simple design features work together to reduce energy needs. Signs in and around the building and tour brochure will provide information, but you are always welcome to stop in the office to ask questions.

4.  Green roof tours.  The roof above the Vertebrate Collections Division, adjacent to the Berry Center's south doors, will be planted with native Wyoming shrubs, flowers, cacti and more.  Once the green roof is planted in summer 2011, there will be tours available for the public to learn more about how green roofs work, what benefits green roofs provide, and what native species are growing.  Click here to read more about the Berry Center's green roof.
