Botany Minor

 

BOTANY MINOR – CURRENT AND SUGGESTED COURSES

Note: The College of Arts and Sciences requires the following regarding academic minors:

  1. Minors consist of course requirements ranging from 18-24 credit hours; and
  2. At least 12 credit hours in a minor must be from courses not being counted toward the student’s major degree.

 

I. CURRENTLY REQUIRED COURSES (THREE COURSES, 11-12 CREDIT HOURS):

BOT 4640 – Flora of the Rocky Mountains (3)

                OR

BOT 4680 – Taxonomy of Vascular Plants (4)

BOT 4700 – Vegetation Ecology (4)

                OR

BOT 4775 – Forest Ecology (4)

II. ELECTIVE COURSES – MINIMUM OF SEVEN (7) CREDIT HOURS, SELECTED FROM THE FOLLOWING:

BOT 3100 – Plants and Civilization – (3)

BOT 3150 – Survey of Remote Sensing Applications – (3)

BOT 4111 – Remote Sensing of the Environment – (4)

BOT 4130 – Applied Remote Sensing for Agricultural Management – (3)

BOT 4330 – Cultivation of Edible Mushrooms – (3)

BOT 4420 – Conservation Biology – (3)

BOT 4550 – Computational Biology – (4)

BOT 4730 – Plant Physiological Ecology – (4)

BOT 4745 – Terrestrial Ecosystem Ecology – (3)

BOT 4780 – Biogeochemistry – (4)
