Whether it is a job in a private or non-profit sector or even the federal government, as a business administrator you will be ready for any type of position that you apply for. It is essential to know and understand the "big picture" when making decisions, trying to solve problems, or even trying a new marketing or advertising strategy.

Here are a couple career highlights:

Top Executives

Top executives devise strategies and policies to ensure that an organization meets its goals. They plan, direct, and coordinate operational activities of companies and organizations. Education and training requirements vary depending on the industry, but many top executives have at least a bachelor's degree with a considerable amount of work experience.

The current job outlook is expected to grow 11 percent from 2012-2022. These positions will depend highly upon the employment growth rate for the specific industry, although candidates should expect very strong competition for these positions (Occupational Outlook Handbook: 2015).

Loan Officers

Loan officers evaluate, authorize, and recommend approval of loan applications for people and for businesses. For most loan officer positions, it is required that a candidate possess a bachelor's degree and receive on the job training, but mortgage loan officer must be licensed.

The current job outlook is expected to grow 8 percent from 2012-2022. The need for loan officers fluctuates with the economy, generally increasing in times of growth, low interest rates, and population growth. This creates a demand for new loans and new loan officers (Occupational Outlook Handbook: 2015).

Human Resources Manager

Human resource managers plan, direct, and coordinate the administrative functions of an organization. They oversee the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of new staff, consulting with top executives on strategic planning, and serve as a link between management and employees. A bachelor's degree is sufficient for most positions, yet more advanced positions may require a master's degree. Each candidate should also possess strong interpersonal communication skills.

The current job outlook for human resource managers is expected to grow 13 percent from 2012-2022. As new companies form and expand, human resource managers will become imperative to oversee and administer their company's programs (Occupational Outlook Handbook: 2015).
