Bacterial wilt of beans (Curtobacterium flaccumfaciens pv. flaccumfaciens) is a seed-borne disease that affects dry edible or common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris). This disease can cause dramatic decrease in yield in affected fields, and up to 10% of seeds from those fields may be infected. If seeds are infected, seed-certification of the field will be lost due to a zero tolerance policy for bacterial bean wilt. In the past it has been found in Nebraska, Colorado, and Wyoming. It was not found in Wyoming in 2007.
