Laurie Bonini grew up in Rock Springs, Wyo., and received a B.A. in English from the University of Wyoming (UW). After working for 10 years in the hospitality industry, Laurie returned to UW, working in Academic Affairs as the University Studies Program Manager and the Freshman Interest Group (FIG) coordinator, and has served as the recruiting and retention coordinator in the College of Agriculture & Natural Resources and in the College of Engineering and Applied Science.
Laurie coordinates new-student orientation and commencement ceremonies, and provides college-wide support to students, faculty, academic professionals and staff on student advising issues, including CEAS and UW policies, Banner, WyoWeb and DegreeWorks. Laurie manages ES course (pre-requisites and Banner scheduling), coordinates PowerGroups, and coordinates the yearly articulation meeting for the college and its Wyoming community college colleagues. She also coordinates the College Scholarship Program.
