Opportunities and Impacts of Wind Energy Development
in the State of Wyoming

presented by:
Dr. Jonathan W. Naughton
Director, UW Wind Energy Research Center (WERC)

Wind energy currently accounts for nearly 3% of the nation's electricity production. This growing trend will continue as the scarcity of energy resources increases, and continued technological advancements yield decreasing costs associated with alternative energy consumption. Boasting some of the best onshore wind resources in the world, Wyoming remains a prime target for wind energy development. Yet, there remains a number of barriers to development that may hinder Wyoming emerging as our nation's major producer of wind energy. Join us Thursday, March 1, as Dr. Jonathan W. Naughton discusses these and additional opportunities for and the impacts of wind energy development throughout the state of Wyoming.
