Engineers Earn Runner up Honors in Homecoming Parade

October 19, 2010 — UW College of Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, runner-up in the Most Original float category in the 2010 University of Wyoming Homecoming parade. The parade, with the theme, "Poke Pride is UW Pride" featured more than 70 entries.

Winners in other adjudicated categories were: Most Outstanding Float -- Phi Kappa Alpha and Delta Delta Delta; Office of the Registrar and Financial Aid was judged as the runner-up. Most Original Float -- UW Libraries and Association of Black Student Leaders winner; UW College of Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, runner-up. Best Small Float -- Associated Students with Interest in China, winner; Cowboy Parents Association, runner-up. Best Off-Campus Commercial Entry -- Spring Wind Assisted Living, winner; Ace Hardware, runner-up. Best Use of Theme -- Wyoming Student Alumni Association, winner; UW Retail Dining, runner-up. Best Off-Campus Walking Entry -- National Guard Youth Challenge Program, winner; Sikuris de Wyoming, runner-up. Honorable Mention -- Collegiate FFA, Ghost Tours of Laramie, Laramie Jr. High Marching Band and Western Thunder Marching Band.
