UW Students Awarded Society of Petroleum Engineers Scholarships
Each year, the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) awards student scholarships to undergraduate students. The scholarships, valuing $1,000 per academic year, are non-renewable, but students can re-apply every school year. The eligibility requirements for the scholarships require undergraduate students to carry a course load of 12 hours or more; be pursuing a bachelors program in petroleum engineering; and be a member of the student section of SPE.
This year the recipients of the SPE Scholarships included Gabrielle Stuckenschneider of Denver, Colo.; David Haakinson of Gillette, Wyo.; Aleksandra Nations from Casper, Wyo.; Watford City, No. Dakota native Jacob Ness; Tracy Quance from Ninilchik, Alaska; and Kendra Williams from Pinedale, Wyo. Each recipient will receive $1,000 scholarship for academic year 2011-12.
