Professor Naughton Receives Award
April 5, 2011 — Associate Professor Jonathan W. Naughton has been named the recipient of
the 2011 Sam D. Hakes Outstanding Graduate Research and Teaching Award
in the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
Professor Naughton has been a faculty member in the Mechanical
Engineering Department at the University of Wyoming since 1997.
Additionally, he serves as the Director of the Wind Energy Research
Center. Professor Naughton’s research interests include development of
aerodynamic instrumentation, experimental characterization and control
of turbulent flows, unsteady aerodynamics of wind turbines, and
atmospheric inflow modeling to wind turbines. He currently advises five
M.S. students and three Ph.D. students, and is Principal Investigator
on 7 externally-sponsored research projects.
