August 8, 2012 — Following graduation, Bruce worked as a mine electrician with Allied Chemical (now General Chemical). He worked during the summer, holidays, and any spare moment he could to learn the business. He graduated from UW in 1984 and went full time with Allied. He was fortunate to be able to travel to China shortly after moving to full time and worked on a coal project with the company. He served as a Project Engineer with Allied for 15 years and worked with power systems. In 1988, he started his business, Infinity Power and Controls, and began writing code for many top companies including Ford, Basic Food Flavors (the producers of Top Ramen), BP, and many others. In addition, his company works with six to seven water treatment plants throughout Wyoming.
In addition to helping UW with the recent Electrical and Computer Engineering(ECE) Department laboratory, which he named in memory of Professor Kenneth Beach, Bruce and his wife Carla are active supporters of the College of Engineering and Applied Science. Bruce is a member of the ECE Department Advisory Board and they are members of the Cowboy Joe Club.
