Dr. David Whitman named as a Fellow Member of the ASEE
April 24, 2013 — The American Society for Engineering Education(ASEE) has named Dr. Whitman a Fellow Member in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the society. Dr.Whitman will be conferred of his Fellow Member status at the 2013 ASEE AnnualConference and Exposition. The 2013 induction of ASEE Fellows will take place at the Annual Awards Banquet onWednesday, June 26, in Atlanta, GA.
"Dr. David Whitman has been a consistent leader and contributor to the activities of ASEE at both the Section and Division level for the past 30 years. He has authored a number of award winning papers in several ASEE Divisions. In addition to these contributions he has been a vocal exponent for the use of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam as an outcomes assessment for the purpose of ABET accreditation. Dr. Whitman has also provided excellent leadership to the National Council for the Examination of Engineers and Surveyors(NCEES) serving as President of that organization. David also serves on the IEEE-USA/Licensure and Registration Committee.
He has been recognized widely for the quality of his teaching over a considerable breadth of courses in electrical, computer,and petroleum engineering and mathematics. He has authored 95 papers either for journal publication or conference presentation on a wide range of technical topics as well as engineering education." – Dr. Raymond G. Jacquot
