Kim Cattelan Student Highlight

May 3, 2014 — Kim is a native Wyomingite who was born in Rock Springs and lived most of her life in Kemmerer, WY. Graduating from High School as the valedictorian, she received an excellent scholarship to the University of Wyoming. Because of the broader range of opportunity Electrical Engineering presents, Kim switched majors from Chemical Engineering and has not looked back since.

After graduation Kim will be working for Bechtel Marine Propulsion in Idaho Falls, ID.  Kim will be working on keeping the facilities up and running.  This company specializes in storage of spent nuclear cells that come from naval submarines. Kim accepted this position with Bechtel, because she has always had an interest in working in a civilian engineering position with the military, specifically with weaponry, and this is a good way to get her foot in the door.  Kim is also considering getting her master’s degree in nuclear engineering.

A little known fact about Kim is that she has a fear of robots, even though her field involves a lot of them.

The ECE wishes Kim all the best in her future endeavors!
