Recognize Women Who Make An Impact in STEM

Nominate a woman who makes a difference in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

In an effort to provide support to women in STEM by increasing their visibility, the University of Wyoming’s EPSCoR (Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research) will sponsor theOwn It! Awards.” The honors will be given to female staff, students and faculty who have made contributions to their STEM discipline through innovative research.

Organizers are seeking nominations using the following criteria:

  • A woman student, staff or faculty who has made significant contributions to her field of research in the last 18 months;
  • Aptitude and scholarly success;
  • Demonstrated service, leadership, and/or mentorship on the UW campus.

Nominations may come from any person on campus who works directly with the nominee. Upload nominations by 5 p.m. March 25 by clicking here. 

Sponsorship and committee members include personnel from Wyoming National Science Foundation EPSCoR, the Wyoming Center for Environmental Hydrology and Geophysics, WYSTEM through support of the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, and Women in Math, Science and Engineering (WiMSE).

The award ceremony will highlight women in STEM and will be May 4 in the Wyoming Union ballroom. Award nominees will be invited (but not required) to participate in the event as panelists or presenters. The ceremony is open to the public and will be followed by a reception.
