April 1, 2016
Tory Bruno
Tory Bruno is the CEO of United Launch Alliance.

Tory Bruno encourages College of Engineering and Applied Science graduates to consider outer space for a career path. He is offering the chance to learn more about it at the University of Wyoming.

Bruno, the chief executive officer of United Launch Alliance (ULA), will visit UW on Wednesday, April 6. Bruno serves as the principal strategic leader and oversees all business management and operations for ULA. With more than a century of combined heritage, ULA is one of the nation’s most experienced and reliable launch service providers. Headquartered in Denver, the company has executed 106-consecutive launches to space with a 100 percent mission-success rate. ULA delivers capabilities to any orbit, including communications for troops in the field, aid for meteorologists in tracking severe weather, enabling personal device-based GPS navigation and unlocking the mysteries of the solar system.

During his visit, Bruno will meet with Dynamics Engineering classes in the morning, discussing rocket reusability. He will speak about “Careers in the Space Industry” at the College of Engineering and Applied Science and also will address the UW chapter of the Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineers.

He concludes his visit with a presentation that is open to all audiences on the “Future of the Space Industry,” beginning at 4:30 p.m. in the Encana Auditorium in the Energy Innovation Center.
