Mechanical Engineering Alumnus Tabbed To Lead Automotive Supplier

Maurice Sessel, a graduate of the University of Wyoming, was named as president of a global automotive supplier in April.

Sessel will take the reins at International Automotive Components, a global automotive interior components supplier based in Detroit. With more than 30 years of automotive supplier industry experience, Sessel will oversee all primary business functions for IAC’s North American region, including commercial, engineering, operations, quality and procurement. He will also set strategy and oversee the global core engineering and research and development functions.

Sessel earned his bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from the College of Engineering and Applied Science.

Previously, Sessel was IAC’s senior vice president of global engineering and was responsible for all product engineering, design, tooling development, manufacturing engineering, advanced development and global material engineering. Prior to joining the company, he served in several senior leadership roles at Lear Corp. for nearly 20 years.
