SPE Again Recognizes Alvarado’s Contributions

September 13, 2016

For the second time in less than a month, University of Wyoming Professor Vladimir Alvarado has been recognized by the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

Alvarado was selected to receive the “Outstanding Service” award in 2016 for SPE Journal. This award is an international recognition for excellence as a technical editor for SPE’s peer-reviewed journals. He joins just 0.1 percent of the 110,000 members worldwide ever to receive this award.

SPE will send a framed certificate and letter of appreciation for Alvarado’s service. The award recipient list will be published in an upcoming issue of the SPE peer-reviewed journals and the December issue of JPT.

“Thank you very much for your efforts on behalf of SPE’s peer-reviewed journals,” says Dean Oliver, editor-in-chief of the SPE Editorial Review Committee. “Contributions like yours make the review process a success and further SPE’s mission to provide a means of collecting and disseminating valuable technical information.”

Alvarado also joined SPE’s “A Peer Apart” program in August 2016 thanks to his peer-review efforts.
