Associate Professor Lamia Goual of the Department of Petroleum Engineering has been appointed as the A.J. Castagne Professor in the College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS).

CEAS Dean Michael Pishko informed Goual of the honor in a recent letter.

“I am pleased to appoint you as the A. J. Castagne Professor in the College of Engineering and Applied Science,” Pishko says. “Your appointment to this professorship is a strategic opportunity for the college to invest in your area of expertise–interfacial science and thermodynamics.

“Moreover, it is made in recognition of the research contributions that you have already achieved in this area. Your department and college greatly appreciate your contributions, and encourage your further research endeavors.”

The appointment is effective Nov. 1 through June 30, 2019, and has a renewable three-year term. The professorship comes with annual funding to advance research efforts.
