A support program at the University of Wyoming is calling for applications for funding to help female researchers with travel costs.
The EPSCoR Wyoming Women in Science and Engineering (WWISE) Program is asking for proposals for spring conference travel grants. The purpose of the grants is to provide travel funding assistance to winners who will present research at national meetings to increase the visibility of women in STEM fields.
The award is open to UW faculty, research staff, postdocs and graduate students, along with Wyoming Community College faculty in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) disciplines. Members of underrepresented groups in STEM fields and those with disabilities are especially encouraged to apply.
The deadline for applications is 5 p.m. Feb. 17.
Researchers associated with EPSCoR-funded Wyoming Center for Environmental Hydrology and Geophysics (WyCEHG) are encouraged to apply, while other applications focused on water-related issues will enjoy favorable reviews.
WWISE will award 12 total awards that total $8,000. For more information, including requirements and proposal criteria, click here. Interested parties can contact Emily Vercoe with questions at or 307-766-4275.
