Ph.D. Candidate Honored By Petroleum Engineering Department

Gina Javanbakht was selected as the inaugural recipient of the Harry Hill Graduate Excellence Award by the Petroleum Engineering Graduate Committee.

Gina Javanbakht was selected as the inaugural recipient of the Harry Hill Graduate Excellence Award by the Petroleum Engineering Graduate Committee. The purpose of this award is to recognize petroleum engineering graduate students who have achieved outstanding performance in course work, research, and service.
 
Javanbakht, a Ph.D. candidate, earned the first award given out by the department at the University of Wyoming. She received a plaque celebrating her accomplishment and was awarded $1,000.
 
She earned praise from several nominators, which included the following:
 
-       “Gina has become a poised and confident engineer.”
 
-       “I have been consistently impressed by her academic development and performance.”
 
-       “Gina has proven to be an outstanding teacher and mentor.”     
 
-       “Gina is a very motivated, hardworking, and dedicated student.”
 
-       “She really enjoys sharing her work with others through outreach activities for the department, college, and university.”
 
“Gina exemplifies the qualities we want to promote for all of our graduate students and is an excellent ‘benchmark’ for future recipients,” Department Head Hertanto Adidharma says.
