The Senior Design Symposium for the CEAS will be Wednesday, Dec. 6, while the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering will host Design Day on Friday, Dec. 8.

Senior Design Symposium
The annual event will be hosted by the Wyoming Union in the various rooms of the facility. It begins at 9 a.m. and runs through 3:30 p.m. The departments will be showcased at various times throughout the day in one of three rooms (Yellowstone East, Yellowstone Center, Yellowstone West) in the Wyoming Union.

Department schedules
Chemical Engineering: 9 a.m.-noon, Yellowstone East, audio-visual presentations
Mechanical Engineering: 9 a.m.-noon, Yellowstone Center, project poster session
Petroleum Engineering: 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Yellowstone West, audio-visual presentations

Design Day
Design Day will take place at UW's Energy Innovation Center, utilizing the Shell 3-D Visualization Laboratory.

"We can demonstrate our use of the 3-D Cave as an architectural design tool," Associate Academic Professional Lecturer Jon Gardzelewski says. "We will be showing off student work from earlier in the semester in this virtual reality format, including examples of how the technology was used to inform the design process. It’s really quite an innovative use of the technology available."

Students will showcase their projects from 2-4 p.m. in the EIC Encana Auditorium and Atrium, and awards will be presented at the Union Gardens from 4:30-6 p.m.
