CEAS Involved With State TEAMS Competition

The University of Wyoming College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) recently organized an annual outreach education event, the 2018 Wyoming State TEAMS Competition.
TEAMS (Tests of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics and Science) is a competition that gives students the unique chance to discover engineering and how knowledge in engineering can make the world a better place. Students work collaboratively to solve real-world engineering challenges, while applying their math and science skills in creative ways.
UW's efforts affected more than 80 students from across the state. Participating schools in the challenge included Laramie High School, Big Horn High School, Douglas High School, Lander Valley High School, Pinedale High School, Rawlins High School and Torrington High School. Weather prohibited students from competing on campus, but school coaches took advantage of the opportunity to host “on-site location” competitions.
The top three teams from each grade categories have been invited to participate in the national competition, which is June 22-26 in Atlanta.
“All participants should be proud of their accomplishments," CEAS Project Coordinator Teddi Freedman says. "The CEAS looks forward to hosting the competition again in 2019."
