The CEAS Female Mentor Program has been a positive outreach effort since its inception.

The College of Engineering and Applied Science's Female Mentor Program has proven to be a valuable program for both students, faculty and alumni in the college.

Over the course of the current semester at the University of Wyoming, program participants engaged in a series of community building events, including a hike at Vedauwoo Recreation Area, a STEM Speed Mentoring event and a panel discussion with industry experts, as well as a series of one-on-one mentor-mentee outings. To celebrate the end of the fall semester, the Female Mentor group will gather for a festive holiday dinner, followed by attending the Nutcracker performance on Dec. 6.

“It’s been empowering to witness the connections being made not only among our mentee and mentor pairs but among our group members as a whole," CEAS Outreach Coordinator Teddi Freedman says. "I am grateful for everyone’s participation, especially our mentors who have shown outstanding commitment to our students.

I look forward to continuing to work with this community over the course of this school year, and am particularly excited to attend the Nutcracker. One of our very own mentees, Eloise Fadial, will be performing, and I know it will be a great show.”

The CEAS is committed to supporting young women not only through this program, but through several other initiatives and partnership events. For a list of those programs, visit the new “Women in Engineering” webpage.
