April 26, 2013-Stacia Slowey was recently named one of the 2013 New Faces of Civil Engineering – College Edition by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). She will graduate this May as a double major in Civil Engineering and Environment and Natural Resources. She is the second UW Civil Engineering woman in a row to be recognized by ASCE as one of the “New Faces.” Gretchen Heberling landed this distinction in 2012.

July 23, 2012 — After growing up along the Wasatch Front in Salt Lake City, UT, Emily Huth made the decision to relocate to Laramie in 2006 to pursue her B.S. of Civil Engineering. She has since achieved unprecedented accomplishments in both the classroom and athletic competition.

May 14, 2012 — Christine, grew up on a farm in Kersey, CO. This environment exposed her to “hands on” mechanical work associated with the maintaining of farm operations. During high school she was also very interested in chemistry and participated in the International Baccalaureate Program offered by her school district. This gave her access to levels of math and science that were much more advanced than that of the regular curriculum. Collectively, this gave her a natural inclination toward the field of environmental engineering.
April 16, 2012 — Gabrielle Stuckenschneider is currently enjoying her final weeks as a student of Petroleum Engineering. She is scheduled to graduate on May 5, 2012. Gabrielle has been a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority house, has served as a representative for the University of Wyoming’s Engineering Fund for Enrichment (EFE), and has been offered a full-time position by Encana, Inc.
April 5, 2012 — It was Anita's childhood dream to study in the United States of America. This dream came true her when she was offered an exchange program through the Council for Educational Travel, USA (CETUSA), and moved to Elizabeth, CO to complete her high school education.
March 22, 2012 — Civil Engineering senior Margaret Kimble was born and raised in Lakewood, CO. Initially, she had the intentions of attending the Colorado School of Mines. Yet, after a Spring Break trip to the University of Wyoming and an hour unscheduled talk with Susan McCormack, her decision had changed.
March 5, 2012 — Originally from Longmont, CO, Melinda deviated from her original plan of studying international business in Switzerland to pursue her degree in Architectural Engineering at the University of Wyoming.
February 16, 2012 — Dana is currently serving as the vice president of SWE (Society of Women Engineers), an organization developed specifically to promote participation from women in the CEAS. This organization brings together women of the college and provides a support group for students that are facing similar yet unique experiences. Students are provided an open forum to converse, express concerns, and to socialize with their peers.
February 8, 2012 — Originally from Monument, CO, Mallory Hunt began her time at the University of Wyoming as an education major. During the second semester of her freshman year, Mallory changed her major to civil/transportation engineering with a double major in Spanish. Since this transition of majors, Mallory has risen to be one of our college’s top leaders.
January 20, 2012 — In December 2011, Architectural Engineering student Gretchen Heberling was nominated for the American Society of Engineers (ASCE) 2012 New Faces of Civil Engineering: College Edition. She was one of only 10 students nationwide to be recognized for achieving the highest standard for students of Civil Engineering.
