Extended End Plate Moment Connection
This connection is the end plate moment connection. It is made by shop-welding a plate
to the end of a beam and field-bolting it to a column or to another beam. The four
bolts around the tension flange transmit the flange force into the column. Additional
bolts may be needed in deeper sections. A bolt may also be added near the neutral
axis of the beam to prevent gaps between the plates.
