CEAS Shop
The College Shop is available for the fabrication, modification, and repair of college related instructional and research equipment. Priority is given to teaching and research projects within the college, but the Shop also provides support to other University colleges and associated entities (time and funding permitting). Funded projects are currently billed at the Fee Book published rate of $60/hr.
Capabilities: The College Shop operates a large number of machine tools providing a wide array of capabilities. The College Shop is capable of precision machining of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and plastics (list of materials). We utilize Master-CAM software in conjunction with our three axis-machining center. The welding area is equipped to do MIG or TIG welding.
Work Requests: Requests for work must be submitted in the form of a printed drawing based on the Shop Drawing Template found in the SolidWorks Help section below. Drawings must convey all pertinent information about the part in order for it to be manufactured correctly. Good drawing practice is essential. The College of Engineering and Applied Science provides SolidWorks® Education Edition in the ESIG and ME computer labs. Solidworks contains excellent tutorials and additional tutorials can be found here.
Mission: To support educational and teaching endeavors by providing high-quality technical support.
