Dr. Ingrid "Indy" Burke is the director of the Haub School and Ruckelshaus Institute of Environment and Natural Resources. She is a Wyoming Excellence Chair at the University of Wyoming and faculty member in the departments of Botany in the College of Arts and Sciences and Ecosystems Science and Management in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
In a career of more than 25 years, with a focus on the Rocky Mountain West, Burke has served as a member of several National Research Council (NRC) committees to review national environmental research programs and policies, and as a member of the NRC Board on Environmental Studies and Toxicology. She is an associate editor of Ecological Applications and has been on the editorial board of the Ecosystems journal and of Forest Ecology and Management. She is also a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Institute of Biological Sciences and the Ecological Society of America. Burke received her PhD in Botany (1987) at UW, and her BS (1980) at Middlebury College.
