WILD PROSO MILLET
GROWTH HABIT: Annual, up to 6' tall (top height of crop). Reproduces by seed only.
LEAVES: Up to 3/4" wide, smooth to somewhat hairy on both surfaces. Leaf sheaths have long spreading hairs.
STEMS: Erect, branching, hairy.
FLOWERS: A panicle 6" to 12" wide often not fully extended from leaf sheath. Spikelets composed of the seed and surrounding glumes.
SEEDS: Smooth, oval, olive brown to black, appears to be striped, about 1/8" long.
OTHER: Seeds germinate throughout the growing season. A problem in many spring seeded row crops and alfalfa.
