Instructional Support

Instructional Support offers varied training services to UW Extension faculty and staff from project consulting to instructional workshops. We recognize faculty and staff often feel intimidated by technology, are not aware of current and emerging technology resources, or are unsure of how to incorporate educational technology into their instruction. We also understand the importance of providing ongoing training and readily available technology support for faculty and staff.

Current training available to all faculty, staff members, and students includes:

  • One-on-one training: Individual assistance for software or hardware issues, and to aid in preparation for coursework.
  • Workshops: Hands-on group sessions about software, hardware, and various campus Web-based programs. Workshops include ideas for practical application and integration of tools for use with specific needs.
  • Printable instructions: PDF files of instructions for uses such as 4HPlus!, Microsoft Office Application, Elluminate Web conferencing, and more are available.

Instructional Support puts much information on our Web site so you can "self serve," but we know that sometimes generic information may not seem to apply to your situation, or you may want an experienced guide to help navigate all that's "out there."

WE can help you ...

  • get ideas for updating a course,
  • learn about new technologies,
  • learn how to best use existing technologies,
  • find a solution to a teaching concern,
  • plan an instructional technology project,
  • find resources needed to carry out a project, and
  • evaluate the impact of technology on teaching.

We are happy to talk with you at any time about your class or program.
