We are Switching to Elluminate

Printable Article Email this Article

 The change is…
we're switching from Adobe Connect to Elluminate. The University of Wyoming Information Technology department is offering and supporting Elluminate as an online meeting, web conferencing, and teaching tool. Anybody with a uwyo e-mail address can be a moderator for free. That's right free. You can set up your own face-to-face meetings anytime, anywhere. There's no teleconferencing bridge to coordinate. You can present interactive trainings to any number of participants using Powerpoint or other applications. You can share your screen and files with others. It has the same features as Adobe Connect only now anyone with a uwyo account can have their own room and set up their own meetings.

For all levels of learners, there is an amazing array of online video trainings at the Elluminate Web site to get you started. You can choose a specific topic or you can sign up for a comprehensive, live training from the experts. There are also downloadable instructions for those that would rather read than watch and listen. I know, I know, it's one more program to learn. But we're Extension… we're all about learning, right?

UW IT is supporting this program and will be your first contact. To get started, you'll need to set up an account. All it takes is filling out a very short form at https://uwadmnweb.uwyo.edu/UWACCOUNTS/form/#elluminate. There is also an expert, online, 24-hour support desk available at Elluminate that can troubleshoot for you, even if you're in the middle of a meeting. And of course Ag C&T will be available to answer questions and help you out as well.
