The Center for Fundamentals of Subsurface Flow is now accepting proposals under a new Request for Proposals (RFP) released November 24, 2014: "Hydrocarbon Recovery from Unconventional Reservoirs." Proposals will be accepted until December 15, 2014.
A request for proposals was issued on April 1, 2010 for Geologic Sequestration of Greenhouse Gases and Recovery of Unconventional Gas.
The focus of the research in fundamentals of multiphase flow in porous media is in two topic areas:
Recovery of natural gas from unconventional reservoirs characterized by low permeability. Namely, research activities that aim at improving the current understanding of permeability distribution, connectivity, and flow pathways that can be used to improve reservoir models and field design.
