Soft Materials Laboratory

Soft Materials Laboratory is a multidisciplinary research team dedicated to understanding bionanomaterials, living polymerization, carbon recovery, polyionics, and molecular energy systems; the soft condensed matter province of physical and life sciences.

Bionanomaterials: targeted drug delivery, gene delivery, protein delivery, cancer, stimuli-responsive nanoparticles, pharmaceuticals

Living Polymerization: living radical polymerization, atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP), well-defined polymer structures, self-assembling polymeric DNA analogs, catalysts

Carbon and Polyionics: carbon dioxide, sequestration, separations, membranes, sorbents, hydrogen, microwaveable plastics, Carbon Filter Process
Catching a Climate Offender

Molecular Energy: fossil energy fluids, solids, and interfaces; oil, gas, Pressure Volume Temperature (PVT), Enhanced Oil Recovery, electrolytes, supercritical fluids, coal fluids, ionic liquids, hydrates, macromolecular fluids, bio-derived and bio-applicable materials
