Clerkships

University of Wyoming Family Medicine Residency Program at Cheyenne

The University of Wyoming Family Medicine Residency Program at Cheyenne offers clerkships to third and fourth year medical students from LCME or AOA accredited medical schools. Applications will be accepted from third year students for February through May rotations only. Third year students must successfully complete their Pediatrics & Internal Medicine rotations before arriving in Cheyenne.

Since the typical family physician sees the majority of patients in an outpatient setting, our clerkship program is clinically oriented. Hospital exposure for the clerk is expected in that the clerk will make morning rounds with the residents on duty on a particular rotation. The clerk will then return to the Family Medicine Center and see patients. There is no night or weekend call expected during this rotation.

We are able to provide a dislocation allowance of $1,000 for a four week clerkship period. The administrative staff of the Residency Program will provide additional housing information upon request. Hospital meal tickets are available so the student might have meals at the hospital.
